24 Hours in Farming is back, bigger and better

24 Hours in Farming is the agricultural industry’s biggest online event, which highlights the pride of the nation’s food producers and encourages farmers to show the general public a typical working day through the power of social media.

This year is once again sponsored by Morrisons and the event will take place from 5am August 8 - 5am August 9.

The ultimate aim is for as many producers and allied industries as possible to take part on the day by sharing social media posts over 24 hours using the hashtag #Farm24 and show consumers the vast extent of the effort and care which goes into producing the food they eat.

Social media

We want to know more about a typical working day; producers may also be hosting visits, welcoming consumers, meeting with fellow professionals on-farm, attending meetings, trips or social gatherings.

Bring your posts to life

Including photos and short videos can bring posts to life. In general, they make posts far more appealing and, therefore, more likely to be read, commented on and shared among the general public.

Which platforms to use

You can take part on any social media platform, although Twitter or Facebook are the most popular channels on the day. Simply tag your post #Farm24. Throughout the day, Farmers Guardian will be encouraging engagement by commenting, sharing and collating posts into stories throughout the whole event.

Video tips

Try to keep video clips to a maximum of one minute and filmed landscape (rather than portrait). Please post videos directly on social media platforms using #Farm24
Pledge Your Support

This year we are asking farmers to commit to taking part on the day by signing up on our website.

Download your free 24 Hours in Farming poster by clicking the images below and send a picture in pledging your support and/or print out a poster and place on farm to promote the event.
