Do you want to play a key role in transforming the digital presence of one of the UK’s leading trade publications? Are you up for the challenge of shaping a digital strategy that works in tandem with an established print offering? If so then Farmers Guardian has the role for you.


For more than 173 years Farmers Guardian has set the farming news agenda and spearheaded cutting edge journalism across the sector. With a hugely developed online presence, the publication is on the hunt for the right person to take FG’s digital offering to another level and ensure its content is reaching the largest possible audience.


With experience in maximising content delivery for online platforms, you will play a key role in amplifying and sharing industry leading content produced by FG’s editorial team.


Key tasks will include:

  • Help maximise audience reach for editorial content
  • Spearhead FG’s digital presence and ensure unique content is available online at all times
  • Identify the correct places and opportunities in which to share content for the best possible impact
  • Work with journalists and section heads to identify story development opportunities in the digital arena
  • Develop and implement our digital strategy – incorporating all key digital channels including web, social media and online community
  • Lead on our digital transformation activity and champion best practice use of digital across the organisation
  • Grow and develop the digital team capabilities as well as looking at wider distributed skills development across the organisation


Key skills will include:

  • Ability to lead and develop a strong digital offering for a national title
  • Experience maximising user engagement for strong journalistic content
  • Being able to identify opportunities to maximise the digital reach of articles
  • Knowledge of different social media platforms and what works best for which audience
  • An extensive understanding of the digital landscape and how digital tools can be used to engage, build awareness, influence and generate income
  • Demonstrable experience of creating content, managing and reporting on social media and other online activity
  • Knowledge of a range of social media monitoring tools – both free and paid for

An opportunity has arisen within the Farmers Guardian classified team for an enthusiastic telesales executive. Your role will be to generate business by making effective sales presentations to new and existing customers across our portfolio of products which also includes subscription sales and sponsorship opportunities.

We are seeking a confident, self-motivated individual with the drive and hunger to succeed set targets. We offer a friendly, yet energetic working environment. Previous experience is not essential with full and ongoing training provided. Fast track opportunities are available.

Event Producer - International agribusiness finance events

Salary: Excellent package dependent on experience‚Ä®

In October 2014 Briefing Media acquired Agrimoney, a specialist finance site for the international agribusiness industry. Agrimoney is a community-based news and analysis business with c. 70,000 unique users per month and an extensive platform of engagement across e-mail and social media platforms.


The Agrimoney business serves agriculture and food companies; farm suppliers; commodity traders; land investors and fertiliser/ agrichemical producers.


The role

To research and develop a significant events arm for the agribusiness community around the Agrimoney brand. You will work closely with a small but dedicated team of analysts, marketers, sales and operations staff to launch Briefing Media’s events activities in this dynamic sector.


Key Objectives

  • To conduct comprehensive research into the international agribusiness market focusing on primary research via surveys, phone and face-to-face meetings
  • To research and understand the competitive landscape
  • To recommend locations and timings for events
  • To plan the structure of events and secure top-level speakers
  • To manage and deliver detailed project plans for successful delivery of events
  • To co-ordinate and work with members of the wider team – editorial, marketing, sales and operations for the successful delivery of events
  • To manage the flow of the event on the day/s
  • To continuously communicate and update event marketing, sponsorship, operations, sales on progress against targets, pipeline and feedback from the market
  • To carry out post event analysis and feedback and ensure our wider learnings are circulated to the team


The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years commercial B2B event production experience in conferences or summits and now be looking to take the next step in their career. They will relish the challenge of building new events in an entrepreneurial environment built around a quality, content-led portfolio. They will be ambitious; used to working to the highest of standards and interested in building both their personal reputation and Briefing Media’s.


They will be intelligent, have a high level of commercial awareness and be target and deadline driven. We’re not looking for a ‘churn and burn’ approach to events. The developing portfolio is likely to feature a small number of large-scale meetings that have ambitions to be the key learning & meeting points in the industry calendar.


To succeed in this position you will require excellent influencing skills and the ability to work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of passionate sector experts.
