LAMMA is the UK’s largest agricultural trade show, where over 850 exhibitors will host the most extensive array of farm machinery, equipment, and services to be found in one location anywhere in the UK.
Location: Based at Shropham but required to be mobile
To get a good understanding of all aspects of the TNP operation, with a view to joining the company in a permanent role at the end of the 12 months and going on to be part of the next generation of the Agricultural Management team involved in the running of the company.
The role will be given a good grounding in bird welfare, Chicken and Turkey production, stockmanship, logistics, RSPCA and Red Tractor certification, as well as the retail supply chain
Given the nature and size of the business, there may also be the opportunity to get exposure to other departments such as sales, technical and procurement.
Format of Management Trainee Programme:
The programme is 12 months in duration with the candidate completing a round robin across key business functions for example: Farm Management, Agricultural Accounting and Administration, Live Bird Planning, Catching as well as Factory Production
The role will be registered with the Poultry Passport training initiative and appropriate training initiated
Consideration may be given to placing a candidate in a role part way through or at the end of the 12-month programme; however a permanent placement is subject to performance and at the discretion and needs of the business. The type of role that this may lead to could for example be: Asst Farm Manager or Junior Fieldsman.
At the end of every 3 months, the candidate will present observations, experiences and any recommendations to the head of agriculture, the managing directors and HR.
Monthly performance reviews are completed with the head of agriculture.
Market competitive salary of £20k p/a applies.

Ability to accurately record and analyse information
Persuasive and influential
Due to the varying nature of the opportunities across the business, we are looking for candidates who have achieved any relevant agricultural qualification from a level 2 diploma in Agriculture through to degree level
Can do attitude and willing to get hands dirty and involved in menial tasks to learn all aspects of the business.
Good understanding and some experience of agricultural operations.
Good understanding of bird welfare issues.
Good understanding of and contacts with the farming community.
