An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team based at Palacerigg Country Park, Cumbernauld. The post holder will be responsible to the Assistant Business Manager (Facilities) for the health, care, breeding, presentation and general husbandry of the Park's rare breed and animal collection.
You will be educated to SVQ1/Standard Grade level or equivalent and have moderate experience of livestock management and animal husbandry as well as animal handling skills and knowledge of relevant farm-related stock management procedures.To be a success in this public facing role, you will require customer care skills, an approachable and professional manner and remain calm under pressure. You will require computer skills to update records and computer based systems.
You should be able to undertake physical duties, be a positive and enthusiastic individual. The ability to communicate easily with customers and clients, as well as previous experience of working with the public in a leisure related environment and general cleaning and maintenance of facilities is required. You will require a current driving license to undertake the duties of the role.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Group Scheme (PVG) member prior to starting this post.
This post will operate on a rota of alternating shifts and weekends for which the appropriate allowances will be paid.
Week 1: Monday to Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday to Friday
(Saturday to Thursday: 8.30am to 4.30pm (30 minute unpaid break) and Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm (30 minute unpaid break).
