Rothamsted Research is the world’s longest running agricultural research institute, globally recognised for excellent science and lasting benefits to agriculture and farming practices over 175 years. We are seeking a Head of Research Grant Development. The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing the provision of a proactive and comprehensive support service for the planning, development and delivery of the institute’s externally funded research activities.
The main duties of this role include:
You will have prior experience of all procedures relating to submission for external grant funding and be experienced in providing strategic and practical expert advice to research leaders. You will be highly proficient in organisational and management skills and will enjoy both leading a team and supporting others in delivering successful outcomes. You will also have experience of hands-on support, where needed, as well as taking responsibility for co-ordinating multiple activities being undertaken by others. You will be based at the main campus in Harpenden but will also support scientists at our North Wyke site in Devon.Prior experience of national and international research funding opportunities relating to food and agriculture is essential.
This is a full-time, 3 year fixed-term appointment with a salary in the range of £46,232 - £51,580 per annum.
