Technical Manager

£35-£40k + generous benefits

Working for one of the UK's most recognised brands at their world headquarters in Staffordshire, this is a new and interesting role which will form an integral part of the new Total Cost of Ownership programme.

Supporting the department manager, you will be instrumental in the development and efficient running of the TCO programme.

The successful applicant will be the technical interface between internal departments and service departments, monitoring and influencing machine reliability and durability improvements throughout the machine life and to find cost effective preventative maintenance and repair solutions.

Specific duties will include:

  • Gathering and verifying data to compile tools to support service contracts
  • Liaising with engineers throughout the company to ensure accuracy of information
  • Ensure repair and maintenance actions carried out are justified and carried out in accordance with the contract guidelines.
  • Carry out component defect analysis and investigate repeat failures or problems, identifying root causes or faulty parts.
  • Monitor through life machine performance, reporting on compliance of contract by customers and dealers to ensure maximum benefit to all parties.

Requirements

This role will appeal to applicants with a background in aftersales, service or contract maintenance from a related industry such as commercial or passenger vehicles, heavy plant or agricultural machinery.

You will ideally have a recognised apprenticeship or HNC in a related engineering subject and have at least 5 years? experience in a similar role.

As well as good technical abilities, you will have strong administrative skills with the ability to interpret and analyse data.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential with the ability to converse freely with a wide variety of both internal and external customers.
