We're looking for someone with an enthusiasm for nature conservation who will provide support and technical consultation to the National Trust’s properties, allowing them to achieve sustainable standards of conservation in line with the Trust's Land, Outdoor and Nature Strategy. If you have excellent people skills, an ecological background and an ability to interpret data then we want to hear from you!
What it's like to work here
The National Trust Consultancy is the home to specialists in every field of our work. A national consultancy, where resources are shared across disciplines and boundaries, is proving to be a great repository of skills, talent and experience. The diversity and quality of expertise within the Consultancy will enable our properties and places to benefit from an extraordinary range of creative and innovative thinking, as well as deep expertise in all matters relating to our twin purpose of caring for the nation’s heritage and landscapes, and making these accessible to all.
You'll be based at the North Wales Regional Office in the Dinas Hub. Other locations may also be considered.
What you'll be doing
Working alongside, and under the guidance of, our Wildlife Advisor, you'll be providing consultancy advice and support to properties in nature conservation, including habitat and species surveying and monitoring, and site management. You'll also be helping property staff and volunteers set up mechanisms to track change in habitats and identifying opportunities to increase the nature value of our land.
This is an exciting opportunity to encourage and train property staff, increasing their ability and passion to help drive nature conservation development more independently. You'll also have the chance to develop and manage a team of volunteers. You’ll be responsible for building a bank of external services and expertise, securing funding for their participation whilst also managing their involvement. You may also be managing small projects over short term horizons.
