Land Agent - Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire - Excellent package
The land agency team covers many of the aspects of rural consultancy, including sales and purchase, valuations, farm machinery auctions, compulsory purchase and compensation, property management and working with the specialist farm consultancy department to advise and develop proactive farm businesses. We are looking for applications from individuals who have specialist skills in this field although they may need to further expand those skills as two main land agents are approaching retirement.
The scope of the role will depend slightly upon the applicant's experience and the requirements in the office at the time. Although work is likely to be based around a mix of agency, valuation, assisting with farm machinery auctions, compulsory purchase and compensation, if the applicant is senior with specialist skills, our client would expect to use and to develop those skills, whereas if the applicant is more general, they will adapt within the work ongoing at the time.
The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Surveyor specialising in the rural property sector and may well have held a senior position in a firm of Chartered Surveyors. Previous, demonstrable experience of property valuation, agency negotiations, third party referrals, analysing complex property situations, property management, compensation and compulsory purchase etc. Undertaking formal valuations may form part of the role and an applicant who is a RICS Registered Valuer would be an advantage.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 - 4 years post-qualifications. Local knowledge would be an advantage, but is not essential. A good knowledge of the land market and the planning system would be useful. Car driver is essential.
The role carries an excellent starting salary and benefits package and the opportunity to develop a career within the company will be immediately apparent.
