Reporting to: Technical Services Manager

The Technical Services Consultant role is critical to both the experience received by our customers and the revenue performance of Trimble Solutions (UK) Ltd given the proportion of provided by the renewal of Maintenance Contracts. The roles key responsibilities are the delivery of technical assistance in the use of the various software titles sold and supported by the company. This includes and not limited to, telephone, email and online support. Delivery of training courses, involvement in User Days and localisation of the software. The role also involves close working relationships with other departments such as the Sales and Development teams.

Basics:

  • Self motivated, customer and teamwork orientated with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team and towards team targets
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members, ensuring resource and collateral is available for the delivery of the training courses
  • Ability to adapt and evolve your knowledge over time as the supported product line grows
  • The role will be based at our Leeds office but will involve an element of national and international travel

Responsibilities to Trimble Solutions:

  • Always support Trimble and its products at all times
  • Maintain a professional attitude at all times but especially when interacting with customers
  • Always remember our responsibilities and accountability to customers
  • Be proactive at all times
  • Abide by the Trimble Solutions Rule Book at all times

Responsibilities and Expectations in the role include:

  • Provide 1st/2nd line technical assistance to customers with maintenance contracts attached to software titles sold by Trimble Solutions (UK) Ltd
  • Support to be provided by telephone, email, forum or remote logon
  • Ensure correct and timely recording of all cases in the support Call Management System
  • Ensure first response and closure times are in line with Trimble Solutions current targets
  • Author and publish knowledge articles for Tekla User Assistance or Hints and Tips publications
  • Deliver training courses both on and off site on Tekla Structures, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds or other Trimble Software titles as required
  • In conjunction with the Technical Presales Team, localise Tekla Structures for use in the UK environment
  • In conjunction with the Development team, perform the structured testing of customer and partner development items
  • Keep up to date with all Trimble Solutions software products
  • Promote maintenance agreements on Trimble Solutions software
  • Represent Trimble at industry events
  • Attend site visits to customers as required
  • Taking an active interest as a team member in all team responsibilities.
  • Provide input, advice and feedback to headquarters, attend global meetings as required, liaise with Global Helpdesk team
  • Liaise with all other teams, individuals within Trimble to gain maximum benefit throughout the organization
  • Ensure you represent Trimble at all times, on the phone, by email, in person.
  • Any other tasks as defined by the Business Area Director and Technical Services Manager
