Laboratory Technician Soil Department

£17,000 per annum

Berkshire, United Kingdom

Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Soil Department)

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire.

Hours: The hours are either 4am-12pm Mon-Fri or 5am-1pm Mon-Fri

Salary: £17,000 as well as occasional overtime paid at time and a half and there is an ‘early start’ allowance.

Our client incorporates the use of multiple laboratory divisions across the UK and has since become the UK’s largest independent provider of analytical data to the Agricultural, Horticultural, Amenity and Environmental sectors. Operating from five locations in the UK, it employs approx. 350 staff, covering all aspects of a company focussed on providing high quality data and first class customer service.

Due to an anticipated increase in sample numbers this Autumn, our client is looking for extra Technicians in the Soil Department to start at 4am or 5am to be involved in the grinding of dry soils or to help to book in fresh soils, break them up into the trays and get them into the drying cabinets or to help extract the dry soils ready for analysis.

The role requires physical fitness and stamina as you are on your feet all day and are required to do some lifting and the working environment is somewhat dirty and dusty.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Will need own transport as the laboratory is in a rural location.
  • Will possess common sense and a high degree of organisation.
  • Will need a high level of English language skills in order to understand the instructions from your colleagues.
  • Will possess reliability and commitment to stick to the task day in and day out.
  • Must be numerate and able to concentrate in a busy and noisy situation without getting distracted.

This role will start in July 2018 and for individuals who show the required level of commitment and hard work, will finish on March 31st 2018.

If you feel you’re the ideal candidate that our client is looking for, then send in your CV today by clicking the APPLY button below.
