This is an ideal position for a Herdsperson to lead a small team and focus on the dairy herd at this modern well equipped farm.
A substantial 3 bedroom family home will be provided to the successful applicant, recently modernised. Our client runs a very successful dairy enterprise running a 320 autumn block calving herd. Milking is completed twice daily in an excellent 32:32 Dairy Master, rapid exit, ADF system, milking parlour which was installed in the last couple of years. The herd are cubicle housed in winter, grazed throughout the summer.
The successful Applicant will be responsible for:
Herd health, heat detect, spot and treat any sick cows, complete calvings and foot trim as necessary. A share of the milking (split between twice a day milking duties half the week, and once a day only the remainder of the week)
Management of the parlour staff, ensuring standards are kept and protocols are in place. Completion of record keeping in conjunction with the owner; day-book and use of interherd programming.
This is a contract position where the successful This is a contract position where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions.
Hourly pay operates including extra pay for overtime hours worked.
