Fed up with early mornings in the milking parlour, but still looking to work with dairy cows
Beverley - Yorkshire
100 COWS / 670 acres Mixed
Due to retirement we have a unique opportunity for an experienced herdsperson who no longer wants to milk in a conventional parlour and who would welcome the variation of a mixed dairy/arable operation. The 100 Friesian/Brown Swiss cows are milked through 2 new Lely Astronaut robots.
They are loose housed in the winter and grazed in the summer (typically March – November) on a NZ paddock system. Assistance with arable operations would be necessary as the farm grows 500 acres of arable crops alongside the dairy unit. Arable experience is not essential as training can be provided. This is a varied and interesting role which combines a competitive salary with a centrally heated 4 bedroom farmhouse in a picturesque village, within easy walking distance of the farm, close to excellent local schools and the desirable historic market town of Beverley.
