You will work under supervision on all aspects of Fife Council, Parks, Streets & Open Spaces operational activities; this can range from maintenance and development to landscaping and installation of equipment.Requirements
You will be working under the direct instruction of a craftsman, or alone, to develop the skills and knowledge for the chosen trade whilst demonstrating an enthusiasm and willingness to achieve a high degree of competence.
You will have an appreciation of the Parks, Streets & Open Spaces operational activities. You will have the ability to follow instructions and be able to work outside and deal with the demands of the job.The Individual
These vacancies are restricted to applicants who live in Fife. You must be aged between 16 and 24 on or by the specified start date.(Alternatively successful applicants can start at 15 years old however your 16th birthday must be by 30th September 2018. A School Leavers Form and National Insurance Number will be required.)
Applicants should have achieved or be expecting to achieve by August 2018:
A minimum 3 Standard Grades at general level 3/4, to include English and Maths OR 3 Intermediate 1’s, to include Maths and English OR equivalent Core Skills at SCQF level 4 OR 3 National 4s, to include English and Maths.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to achieve SVQ level 2 (SCQF Level 5) in Horticulture. Previous experience can be considered as equivalent see SCQF Framework .
Applicants will be required to pass a job related Theory and Practical test prior to interview.
