Repowered with a Cummins B4.5 Performance Series engine in 2018, Southland Construction’s excavator proves it can do more with less. So much more that its operator didn’t know it was a 4-cylinder. The Cummins B4.5 Performance Series engine provides more torque and horsepower than the original while producing fewer emissions. Cummins delivers diesel and alternative fuel engines from 2.8 to 95 litres, diesel and alternative-fueled electrical generator sets from 2.5 to 3,500 kW, as well as related components and technology. Since its first engine was manufactured for an agricultural pump in 1919, Cummins has powered equipment from some of the world’s finest manufacturers. Its new Stage V engines deliver more with less, with on average 10% more power and 20% more torque (75 – 321 kW power band), than its Stage IV range. This gives equipment operators higher performance and more machine capability.
Cummins serves its customers through a network of 500 company-owned and independent distributor facilities and approximately 7,500 dealer locations globally.
