About the job Please note the salary advertised above is inclusive of a Market Factor Supplement. Hillingdon is well advanced in the production of its Local Plan Part 2; Development Management Policies and Site Allocations and Designations and will shortly commence a review of its Local Plan Part 1 Strategic Policies. This document will address some of the most significant strategic planning issues in London including; major infrastructure provision, protecting the Green Belt in the face of increasing development pressure, maintaining a substantial reservoir of high quality employment land and addressing significant housing needs. The role provides the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of planning including the protection of wildlife and habitats, heritage and conservation, urban regeneration and town centre development. About the person This is a key post within the Council and we are looking for an exceptional candidate to take these unique challenges forward. An 'all rounder', you will have the ability to work with development management colleagues and other disciplines across the Council. You will also be required to represent the Council in its discussions with a range of external partners including the GLA and adjoining London Boroughs, as well as education and healthcare provides to ensure infrastructure delivery. The successful candidate should be politically aware, have proven line management ability and the enthusiasm and drive to take on these key challenges.
