We are recruiting for a Wind Turbine Generator Installation Engineer to work on a long-term contract basis on a major offshore wind farm project.
You will provide WTG technical support within a team of engineers and project managers responsible for the implementation of the Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA); supporting decision making on all activities from turbine design changes, manufacturing through assembly and offshore installation works until final hand over to operations team.
Responsibilities will include:
• To ensure WTGs suit technical requirement and TSA. • Manage technical aspects of TSA, and technical interfaces with the supplier. • Support root cause analysis during the manufacturing and construction phases. • Identify and manage interfaces between the WTG and other work packages. • Represent the project in front of the WTG supplier in any technical forum. • Ensure the qualification and acceptance of design modifications. • To adhere to project program requirements. • Technical risks & lessons learnt management. • Coordination of engineering resources. • Provide recommendations regarding technical solutions. • Work with QHSE team to understand technical risks and propose solutions. • Participate in review of quality documentation during manufacturing and construction.
• Educated to Degree level in engineering (preferred), mathematics, physics or similar. • 3 years of wind industry experience with WTGs, either onshore or offshore, offshore being desirable. • Very flexible to travel around the UK and overseas. • Technical and practical knowledge of wind turbine technology (Electrical and Mechanical knowledge is required). • Knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation associated with construction projects.
