Location: Hythe and Waterside, Southampton

Salary: £21,356 - £32,000 Dependant on experience

Contract: Full time, permanent, 51 hours per Week

About us:

New Forest Care is a private organisation of approximately 240 employees who provide high quality care to the young people who live within our 11 Children's Homes. All of our homes, crisis service unit and our school are graded as Outstanding/Good by Ofsted. Crisis Service unit is a residential children’s home under the umbrella of New Forest Care Ltd, established to provide a safe and caring environment, catering for Young People of who have complex emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Crisis Service unit specialises in short term emergency placements supporting young people who pose a specific risk to themselves and / or the community, whose placements elsewhere have broken down, or are at risk of permanent exclusion. Ridge Farm provides short term emergency placements to allow local authorities’ time to make plans for young people’s futures and to find appropriate long term placement.

Using adventurous activity and the natural environment as a process for engagement and for promoting resilience we support young people move on from placement breakdowns, emergencies and crisis to positively transition into long term placements.

Adventurous activities allow young people to develop new skills, face perceived risk in a safe environment and experience successes, while improving physical and emotional wellbeing. We use the outdoors natural environment to create a safe space for exploration, constructive challenge and opportunity for young people to have time to reflect.

The ideal Crisis Service Care Worker will need the following requirements:

  • Provide unconditional care support to the children and young people in our care.
  • Guide and individually support young people in relation to their individual needs.
  • To uphold the expectations and ethos of the crisis unit within the context of company policies and national legislation so as to offer the optimum level of care provision.
  • To take all reasonable care to safeguard young people and staff members.
  • To follow all company policies and procedures.
