We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a national supplier of agricultural goods.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated and motivated individual with the ability to inspire and encourage a small team to achieve production targets. It is essential to have proven man-management experience with the ability to communicate at all levels within the business.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Ensure that all appropriate instructions have been given to all employees, and if required, directly supervise all work with any health and safety hazards
Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences and in particular near misses to the Site Manager and investigate all minor accidents and implement remedies to prevent re-occurrence
Ensure all employees, visitors and contractors whilst on site, conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner
All haulage contractors adhere to the Site Safety Instructions provided to them
Ensure all maintenance and inspection schedules are carried out according to frequency and procedure
All formwork/inspection sheets are completed and returned to Site Office for checking and filing
To liaise with the Site Manager on any issues which may affect the plant output on a day to day basis
To be involved in discussions on a weekly basis as to the required output of the plant as the site becomes busier, matching the labour requirements and conversely as the site demands ease off due to seasonal natures
Inform Site Manager of any stock issues such as shortages, storage space, uncollected pre-booked goods etc.
Ensure all lorries are loaded in an efficient manner avoiding unacceptable waiting times
The ability to demonstrate a hands-on approach to engineering solutions and maintenance with the ability to select and control contractors
Be IT literate
Good organisational skills
Strong knowledge of stock control
Keen focus on Health, Safety and Quality issues
The ability to cope well under pressure
Flexible attitude - be prepared to work the hours required to fulfil the requirement of the role
Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 DOE
