Our client is a leading Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy who specialise in ensuring environmental compliance for construction and development projects using sound, best practice environmental management techniques. They are currently looking to employ an Ecologist to join their team in Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will be expected to provide specialist advice to high standards including for protected species assessment; habitat translocation, habitat creation and management, site restoration and rehabilitation, specialist services for planning applications, environmental impact assessments and appropriate assessments. The ideal candidate will have: -An appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline -Have some demonstrable experience in ecological consultancy and experience in extended Phase 1 habitat survey along with protected species surveys-Be a holder (or working towards) of a European protected species survey license.-Have a good understanding of relevant wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies-Experience in undertaking protected species surveys.-Have excellent report writing skills with a focus on quality and attention to detail.-Hold a valid driving license-Terrestrial ecology consultancy experience;-Experience of contributing to EIAs for major infrastructure schemes-Detailed knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy and Environmental Impact Assessment-Ability to manage own time, and to mentor and motivate others In return, the company are offering an excellent remuneration package commensurate with experience.
