Operations Manager: Agriculture - UHNW Estate, Hampshire

£35,000 per annum

United Kingdom

The Operations Manager shall support the Estate Manager and shall be responsible for the operations at the estate in the Premises in accordance with a plan set out by the Estate Manager. This will be a Live-In position.

Your duties shall include:

  • Managing contractors, liaising with suppliers.
  • Performing ad-hoc duties requested by the Estate Manager including the ones in relation to the livestock.
  • Maintain and update all requirements and documents associated with Farm Assurance on a weekly basis and expand Farm Assurance to other areas of farm eligible for assurance.
  • Recruiting the staff requested by the Estate Manager, performing HR compliance and handling staff issues on behalf of the Company other Group Companies when required.
  • Creating business plans and preparing formal reports required by the Rural Payment Agency.
  • Developing and maintaining a system of proper filing and keeping of documents.
  • Performing Health and Safety compliance including H&S and Fire Risk assessments and management.
  • Ensuring compliance of animal farm and cheese production with government, industry standards, including health, hygiene and sanitation standards. Ensuring that regular weekly testing of produce meets FSA and EHO requirements.
  • Liaising with local authorities and other government bodies such as the Rural Payment Agency, animal registration and welfare, obtaining necessary licences and permits.
  • Attending to cheese making and diary plant specifically:
  • Ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures for all products are set up and documented.
  • Ensuring that Food Safety Plan is set up and documented.
  • Controlling compliance issues related to Standards and Procedures set up at the estate.
  • Performing marketing and promotion of products of the estate, including social and online marketing
  • Liaising with new and existing customers providing ongoing product updates, support and co-ordination
  • Organising and overseeing all delivery and customer schedules on a daily basis
  • Organise and oversee all customer inquiry and complaints as needed

Duties of the Employee can include any other additional duties required by the Company.

Candidate requirements

  • Previous sales experience in an agricultural environment.
  • Strong interest in the farm produce industry
  • Commercial acumen and business growth experience and success
  • a knowledge of food production and an awareness of customer demand, food standards and sustainability
  • organisational and time-management skills
  • the ability to work under pressure
  • supervisory skills and management ability
  • a full driving licence
  • marketing skills
  • IT skills
  • good technical knowledge

Salary: £35-45k depending on experience
