Your new employer is a well-established, award winning, high profile and forward thinking Architectural and Building Surveying team. Projects range from renovations of a country house or farm building conversion, to complete new-build projects, providing clients with an exciting designs across a range of projects, both ancient and modern. Their services include advice on works planned for historic and listed properties, project management of major developments, specifications and management of building projects typically £50k and up in value.
Your new role
You will head up the existing Surveying department and immediately take ownership of key projects and clients. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, contract admin, building surveys, report writing, scheme design and specification writing. You will advise on the management and supervision of maintenance of buildings, monitor projects and offer advice to clients on areas such as property legislation and health and safety. The projects you will work on will be diverse and wide ranging; Recently this has included clients such as Goodwood, HS2 and many local authorities across Sussex. You should be able to operate independently and be able to work together as part of a team. Your new position offers you enormous scope for progression and candidates with hunger to become a Director in the future will be backed every step of the way.
What you'll need to succeed
As senior Building Surveyor, you should be MRICS qualified with ideally experience in either working in a rural location, or on conservation projects and listed buildings. As the team includes Architects and technicians, an understating and some use of AutoCAD would be required. You should be a driven strategic problem solver with a proven ability to manage projects, working with a range of clients, build relationships and develop client care, using outstanding communication and influencing skills.
