Procurement Specialist

A Procurement Specialist is required to join a growing technical business based near Southampton, Hampshire. The role will be our client?s first dedicated procurement position, and will offer the successful candidate autonomy, as well as the chance to drive change within the organisation. The role is offering a salary of around £45k.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, validating and on-boarding suitable suppliers, primarily hosting and cloud suppliers.
  • Negotiating commercially attractive supplier agreements whilst minimising exposure to risk.
  • Contract review and overseeing legal due diligence.
  • Owning, developing and driving adoption of procurement processes to facilitate time sensitive ordering and cancellations.
  • Creating, evangelising and supporting procurement policies and procedures across all projects to satisfy wider company requirements.
  • Supporting finance with the necessary governance to ensure supplier invoice accuracy.
  • Working with finance on cash flow management when required
  • Contributing to the requirements gathering for automation projects which in turn can drive efficiency and scale.
  • Provision of management reporting including supplier performance metrics.
  • Provision of historical spend and usage data with Operations to identify Farm efficiencies.
  • Management of contract queries in support of the product / service owner.

Experience Required:

  • Experience of procurement and supplier selection processes.
  • Experience in the procurement of Cloud services and server infrastructure in multiple geographies and currencies.
  • Experience in producing key procurement documents such as RFPs and draft contracts.
  • Examples of involvement in procurement activity that led to an improvement in business performance.
  • Ability to develop and drive adoption of procurement processes across the wider team.
  • Ability to apply policies and rules across a range of scenarios.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Supplier performance management
  • An ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with staff and third-party suppliers.
