Opportunity for a Paragon Transport Planner within a sector leading business based in Exeter
Our client, based in Exeter, are a leading supplier of specialist product to the agricultural sector within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain
Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Transport Planner will be using Paragon to route vehicles across the South West whilst liaising with other depots to ensure maximum operational and commercial efficiency. Responsibilities will include:
Use Paragon and information from the SAP system to schedule all deliveries to meet customer requirements.
Ensure the schedule complies with legislative requirements of the "O" licence / drivers Working Time Directive / Road Transport Directive and Company protocols and procedures.
Co-ordinate scheduling activities with manufacturing and customer services to optimise operational assets whilst meeting service standards.
Work closely with the drivers' and planners to further improve communication and operational efficiencies
Inputting of TUS and drivers hours, accruals and any other duties as required
Minimise third party haulage in line with the budget.
Ensure drivers' hours and tachographs are observed, proper records are kept and that these are made available on request
Ensure vehicles and trailers are not overloaded and drivers are operating within the speed limit
To be considered for the role of Transport Planner, the following skills and attributes are required:
Experience using Paragon software ESSENTIAL
A minimum of 2 years' experience in transport planning
Excellent communication skills
Ability to use initiative and problem solve under pressure
The role of Transport Planner pays a basic salary of £25,000-£27,000
