GBR Recruitment are working in close partnership with a industry renowned Off Highway, Plant & Specialist Machinery manufacturer / distributor recruiting for an experienced Workshop Foreman / Workshop Manager to oversee a team of Workshop Engineers & Technicians ensuring a high level of customer service at all times, focused on quality & driving efficiency's This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company that produces high quality Ride on Mowers, Snow Ploughs, Gritters, Rail & Runway Clearance Machines, Tractors & Other Agricultural Machinery as well as specialist Plant / Construction Machinery You will previously of been a time served Workshop Foreman, Workshop Manager or an Engineer with some Supervisory / Management experience qualified to NVQ Level 2 / Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Ideally you will come from a background in; Off Highway, Construction / Heavy Plant Machinery (Excavators, Dumpers, JCB's etc..), Municipal Machinery (Road Sweepers, Snow Ploughs), GSE Machinery, Forklifts, Agricultural Machinery (Tractors, Combines etc..) or Similar (Hydraulics, Pneumatic's, Vehicle Electronics, Diesel Engines) Job Overview:
A Workshop Manager is required to join one of the UK's leading specialist equipment organisations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for running the busy Workshop and team of Fitters to ensure that all targets are achieved and customers are satisfied with the Service.
Tasks will include:
Overseeing a team of 6 Engineers & a Team Leader
Responsible for maintaining equipment worth £50K - £100K+.
Places orders for spares and consumables in line with Company authorisation limits remaining within monthly and annual budgets.
Prioritise workload, motivate & coach
Ensure that all works are completed in a timely manner in line with customer order requirements
Directly manages a team of Fitters being responsible for their performance and conduct at work.
Overseeing all contract maintenance works; repairs, modifications, fault finding, re-builds as well as controlling Quality Control standards
To be considered for this role, we’re looking for someone who –
Time served in a similar Workshop Manager or Foreman role
Qualified to NVQ Plant Maintenance level 3 or similar / equivalent
Demonstrable experience of maintaining diesel powered equipment, petrol engines, hydraulic systems and electrical appliances
Experience of maintaining relevant equipment in a workshop environment
Experience of managing a team of employees in a workshop environment
Experience of achieving targets and working within a set budget
Good communication skills and IT literate
