idverde is Europe’s largest provider of “green services” working with both public authorities and private businesses. It has over two thousand employees nationally and is growing fast. Services provided include grounds maintenance in parks and open spaces, cleansing, and landscape construction. Several opportunities have now arisen to join the team at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London. The BALI award-winning site of the 2012 Olympic Games is now host to a diverse variety of large-scale events in its Olympic-calibre venues and green open spaces, and has achieved a Green Flag award for five consecutive years. Here on the Olympic Park we are committed to providing local jobs for those in the surrounding host boroughs of the park. If you fit this criteria, we would love to hear from you. Grounds Maintenance Operatives We are excited to invite two horticultural enthusiasts to join our gardening team on the park. You will be responsible for keeping the park clear of litter and weeds, maintaining the lawns and herbaceous beds, irrigation tasks and assisting with high-profile events. To be successful in this role we are looking for a confident communicator with a sound knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance tasks. An RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent would be desirable but practical horticultural experience is just as important. PA1 and PA6 certification would be a great advantage, as well as a full clean driver’s licence. Please be aware that our gardeners are often expected to work bank holidays and weekends, and that we pay our employees London Living Wage. If you would like to apply please email your CV and covering letter to Londonadmin@idverde.co.uk, quoting the reference “QEOPHORT”. Apprenticeships We are also looking for an apprentice to work alongside our horticulture team as part of our structured in-house apprenticeship programme. You’ll get to experience working with all of our different teams to pick up a variety of skillsets and we’ll support you to ensure that you have a successful career in horticulture. Like our gardeners please note that you may be expected to work weekends and bank holidays. We pay our apprentices £6.50 per hour. If you are interested in applying, please send a cover letter detailing why you are interested in the position and any relevant experience or qualifications you have to Londonadmin@idverde.co.uk, quoting the reference “QEOPAPPRENTICE”.
