Our client is an ambitious dairy farming business operating a 1500 cow spring calving unit in North Shropshire. We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and exceptionally ambitious individual who can lead a young, motivated and competent team to deliver outstanding results.

 

The Farm was established in 2013 and is located just to the North of the village of Hadnall, 10 minutes from the market town of Shrewsbury. The farm has outstanding infrastructure, with a 450 hectare grazing platform and an additional 300 hectares of support land.

 

This role will suit an experienced grass-based manager who is looking to further themselves on a large-scale unit. They will have ambition to grow the business and the drive to operate at the highest level in the industry.

 

The candidate will be involved in a discussion group, will have strong support from the business owner and ongoing investment in their professional development.

 

Skills Required:

  • A proven track record managing a grass-based farming system.
  • Proven ability to deliver block calving KPIs.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to train and develop staff.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • A good understanding of financial management.
  • Excellent record keeping.
  • Sympathetic approach to operating a large dairy business on a family Estate.
  • Ambition to progress themselves, the team and the business.
  • An open mindset.
  • Good references. Package
  • 55 hours/week
  • 28 days holiday per annum.
  • £50k basic
  • House to suit family requirements.
  • Farm vehicle.
  • Opportunity for performance bonus following probation period.
  • Ability to grow equity as business grows.
