Tributes have been paid to Richard Huxtable, a case officer for rural charity RSABI who passed away suddenly at his home near Inverurie on Monday (March 30) at the age of 55.
He had been in the post with RSABI since May 2015 following a career with SAC Consulting.
Mr Huxtable had been self-isolating at home following Covid-19 guidance but the cause of his death is as yet unknown.
RSABI chief executive Nina Clancy said: “Our staff and trustees are all devastated by Richard’s passing. It is such a shock for everyone and our thoughts are very much with Richard’s wife and family at this incredibly difficult time.
"Richard was a case officer with RSABI for over four years and during that time he provided support to hundreds of people in the North East, Orkney and Shetland. His contribution to the work of RSABI, and the wider Scottish agricultural industry, cannot be overestimated.
"He was a hugely respected and valued member of the RSABI team, who brought a combination of care, intelligence and business knowledge to his role, along with his own unique sense of humour.
“He will be very much missed.”
