A 78-year-old dairy farmer has died following an incident in Lancashire.

Lancashire Police said officers were called to the farm on Noggarth Road, Fence, Lancashire, shortly before 6pm yesterday evening (Wednesday, April 13).

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to the farm after reports of a sudden death. On arriving at the farm, a man was found dead near to his tractor.

"There were no suspicious circumstances."

The 78-year-old, named locally as James Tatham of Sunnyside Farm, is the second man to die in a farm-related incident in less than a week.

On Friday, 28-year-old Matthew Drummond was killed in what is believed to have been a machinery related incident.
