Acquisitions help boost Meadow Foods profits

Sales in the year were up seven per cent to £456 million with more than 550 million litres of milk from 650 farmers processed at four sites in England and Wales.

Wrexham based Roil Foods was bought during the reporting year. It produces edible dairy-based oils.

Since then Meadow Foods has also taken over Nimbus Foods, based in Dolgellau, Wales which specialises in dairy toppings and decorations for confectionery, ice cream and dessert manufacturers.

Meadow Foods said it will continue a strategy of targeted acquisitions and expansion.

During the 2018/19 reporting year £6.8 million was invested in increasing the capacity and efficiency of plants with a further £8 million earmarked for this year.
