The ever popular Farmers Guardian AGM t-shirts have raised £2,000 for a national farming charity thanks to donations from Young Farmers at this year’s annual convention weekend.
Two thousand t shirts – sponsored by Muck Boots and printed for YFC members - were given away in the opening hours of this year’s Young Farmers annual convention weekend taking place in Torquay (April 24 - 26).
The FG team were there to greet members as they were asked to donate £1 to the Farming Community Network in exchange for an FG t-shirt and in true YFC style were only too happy to help.
It means the total amount raised from FG t shirts at the NFYFC AGM now stands at £5,000, which has seen previous funds donated to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute and YoungMinds.
FCN operates throughout the UK and is open 365 days a year offering farmers support through financial, physical and psychological hardship.
The Riveria Centre, the centre of the weekend’s activities, opened its doors to 5,000 Young Farmers, a record attendance number for Torquay.
The three-day annual event is the biggest weekend on the YFC calendar and includes a weekend of socialising with fellow members, national competition finals, agricultural debate and the AGM.
