The April 2018-born homebred heifer is by Waindale UFO and out of a pedigree Limousin dam by Huntershall Filleppe. It was also commercial champion at the Royal Welsh Show as well as Beef Expo which was held in Kendal. The heifer is one of 20 cows in the herd and will be retained for breeding.

Taking the reserve supreme spot was the Charolais champion, an in-calf heifer from R.O. Williams and Son, Llanaber. Caerddaniel Nanette was born in January 2017 and is by Dingle Hofmeister, out of Tillside Isabel. It is due to calve to Oakchurch Maximus in spring next year. Nanette was part of the reserve champion Charolais group of five at the Royal Welsh Show and stood inter-breed champion at Eglws Bach Show. The family also took the reserve breed champion title with their eight-month-old bull, Caerddaniel Pablo, which is also by Oakchurch Maximus.

The Welsh Black breed champion was Rhyddid Wena, from Lynn Foxwell, Harlech, who also scooped the reserve title with Rhyddid Wennol. The champion was a homebred three-year-old heifer by homebred bull, Rhyddid Sgethrog and out of Rhyddid Ruby. It is four months in-calf and is part of Mrs Foxwell’s herd of Welsh Blacks and Dun Galloways. Their bull, Rhyddid Yosef also took the male breed championship.
