THE Northern Supreme sale of Blue Texels at Carlisle held on behalf of the breed society saw a top price of 25,000gns.
This was for Whatmore E-Male, a ram lamb by Whatmore Chaos out of Whatmore Banofi consigned by Sara Gibbons, Brecon. The buyer was Messrs Jewitt, Barnard Castle.
Next at 6,500gns was Pistyll Everest, a ram lamb by Caryl’s Blue Dazzler out of a home-bred ewe from G.A. and H.M. Francis, Abergorlech. It sold to the partnership of Messrs Watret, Annan, and Messrs Tippetts, Shifnal.
Matt’s Escobar, a ram lamb by Saltire Blue Derek from Matthew Burleigh, Enniskillen made 6,000gns. It was bought by Stasa Moyse, Skene, who also paid 5,500gns for Pistyll Elite, another 2020-born son of Caryl’s Blue Dazzler from Messrs Francis.
Ms Moyse had the top four female prices, all for shearling gimmers by Caryl’s Blues Captain. Firstly, Saltire Blue Doris out of Saltire Blue A Beauty sold for 6,000gns to Messrs Bowring, Mansfield. This was followed by Saltire Blue Dawn at 5,500gns going to Messsrs McFarland, Co Tyrone.
Making 4,500gns was Saltire Dreamer which also sold to Messrs Bowring. At the same money and also was Saltire Damson which sold to Page Farm Partnership, Ripon.
