The 2002-born cow was bought by the Throup family from their cousin as part of a restocking programme and has given over 100 tonnes of milk in her career.

Mr Thorpe, who runs the Dalebrad herd said: “She is a very youthful, easy to manage cow and we are lucky enough to have her twin daughters milking in the herd. We nearly fell over when we heard we were the winners”.

Bradla Miranda 4 competed against the three other regional finalists to be crowned overall winner:

South – Goonhilly Zest Rose, owned by Messrs Tripconey, Cornwall

Central – Amberhill Lovely Lily, owned by J Hole and Sons, Ashover, Derbyshire

Northern Ireland – Ards Shottle Belinda, owned by Messrs Patton, Newtownards, Co.Down.
