From today (April 22), daytime temperatures will fall by as much as 8degC compared to previous days.
Farmers Weather’s Dr Simon Keeling said: “Low pressure is going to become situated to the east of the UK with high pressure to the west, this resulting in a cold northerly airflow.
“This polar air brings showers with it, most in northern and eastern areas at first, but watch for things turning increasingly mixed later in the weekend and into next week.
“The northerly winds look set to stay with us throughout most of next week, always bringing the risk of some showers, although rainfall amounts aren’t expected to be excessive, and indeed may be below normal in more western areas.”
Daytime temperatures are expected to vary between 5degC and 11degC next week.
