Dairy producer numbers in England and Wales have fallen by 1,000 in the last three years, according to AHDB.
Statistics show numbers fell by 0.2 per cent in July to 9,538.
Welsh farmers decreased by seven and the North and Midlands decreased by five producers each from the previous month.
The North West fell by four and the Mid-West by two.
However, both the South and South West regions increased by one.
Numbers have fallen by 239 or 2.4 per cent from July 2015. The Midlands has seen the most change, with producers down 3.5 per cent year on year.

In Scotland, fell by 37 in the past three years to a record low of 974 in January, according to figures from the Scottish Dairy Cattle Association.
7 new dairy farms were started but 34 farms ceased milking cows.
However, the total dairy cow population has increased by 2,552 to 175,835 with a record average herd size of 180 milking cows.
