Dutch firm take on UK distribution of Kioti tractors

Effective from February 1, 2016, the distribution of all Kioti products, which includes compact tractors and utility vehicles, for the UK has been taken over by the Pols Group, based in Holland.

Reco who had distributed the Kioti product range since 2001 has discontinued its operations in the UK as from January 31, 2016.

Since 2000, the Pols Group has operated as importers for the Kioti business in Benelux, Holland, France and Romania. Manning the UK side of things is essentially the same old Reco team, transferring directly to Kioti UK, including Patrick Desmond, now Kioti UK operations manager. Having already been supplying Kioti spare parts throughout Europe since 2006, the Pols Group will also handle parts supply for the UK.

Kioti UK is currently working from the ex-Reco premises, however, it is actively looking for its own HQ in the St Neots Cambridgeshire area. With an existing dealer network of about 70 outlets, Kioti UK hopes to capitalise on this and expand into areas not yet fully represented, says Mr Desmond.

Its tractor offering ranges from 26hp to 110hp, with about 20 per cent of machines sold into agriculture. Traditionally, Kioti tractors sold into agriculture have been used for yard duties such as scraping, but with the recent introduction of the three-model PX Series ranging from 95hp to 110hp, Mr Desmond hopes these tractors will be more appealing for a wider variety of tasks, and in turn boost sales into agriculture. The PX Series will be available from September with prices to be confirmed. Lead time is approximately 14 days, says Mr Desmond.

Kioti tractors are built in South Korea and are actually known as Daedong in its domestic and local markets, with the name Kioti adopted for Western markets.
