Sheep worrying was firmly in the spotlight this week as a police rural crime team live-tweeted the aftermath of a dog attack.
The North Wales Police Rural Crime Team went ’live’ on Twitter yesterday (November 14) and were called to a sheep worrying incident immediately.
A dog had escaped from a house, close to the farm, and spent three hours savaging nine sheep, killing three of them.
The owner of the dog was out searching for the animal during this time.
A police spokesman said: "The decision was made by the owner of the dog to have him euthanized following the savage and frenzied attack.
"The dog had previously attacked sheep 10 years previously. A disturbing and thought provoking incident. Compensation will be paid to the farmer also."

Over the weekend, a walker was airlifted to hospital after being attacked by Highland cattle following a dog worrying incident.
Police said the small herd of cattle was worried by a dog off its lead, resulting in the cattle attacking a member of the public who was walking with another group, not related to the owner of the dog.
We have 1,000s of livestock worrying signs which you can nail to gateposts or fenceposts near footpaths to highlight the problem to walkers.
