A ewe lamb which had been placed second in the pre-sale show took the top price of 900gns at the Scottish regional Jacob Society show and sale at St Boswells.
By Overdale Robert Price and consigned by Siwan Harries of the Hope flock, Llandeilo, it sold to Messrs Locker, Duns, Berwickshire.
Next in the females at 750gns and from the same vendor was a six-year-old ewe by Hyndshaw Highland Laddie which was a first prize ewe and reserve female champion at this year’s Royal Welsh Show. The buyer was Messrs Duncan, Cumnock.
Making 680gns and again from Mrs Harries was the third prize ewe lamb, a Pike Field Braveheart daughter which was knocked down to Messrs Barton and Harrison, Grange-Over-Sands.
The winning shearling gimmer by Hope Knock Out from Adam Christie’s Adamski flock, Huntley, sold for 550gns to Messrs Lamb, Jedburgh.
Rams topped at 750gns twice. Firstly, for Luruha Lambeosaurus, a ram lamb by Pentrenant Pimms from Ewen MacMillan, Glasgow, which went home with Messrs Harper, Hawick.
The other was the winning ram lamb and overall champion, Hope Grand Slam, a Hope Rocky Boy son from Mrs Harries, which sold to Messrs Beatty, Co Tyrone.
The reserve champion and first prize shearling ram, Harbell Harper, by Arkleside Dudley, from M.W. Harper, Hawick, sold for 720gns to Mr Christie.
