Farmer dies after being electrocuted by overhead power line

An 18-year-old man has died after his tractor collided with overhead power lines at his family farm in Digby Fen, Lincolnshire.

It is believed the man died at the scene.

Jackson Maplethorpe died when the tipping trailer he was towing collided with an overhead power line and became stuck.

 

Mr Maplethorpe is believed to have tried to remove the trailer when he was electrocuted.

 

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said the tragedy happened on Monday November 7.

 

A spokesman said its investigations were continuing.
