The man, named locally as Martin Mawson, whose family own popular rural tourism business Highside Farm, in Bassenthwaite, died on Sunday May 3.

It is believed Mr Mawson was driving the quad bike when it overturned at the farm, which is situated between Keswick and Cockermouth.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "Police were called by North West Ambulance Service at around 11.30pm on May 3 to the report of an incident involving a quad bike on the fells near a property on the A591 between Bothel and Keswick.

"A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene."
