Farmers Guardian editor and Briefing Media Agriculture group head of content, Emma Penny, was among those awarded an Associateship of the Royal Agricultural Societies (ARAgS).

Presented by the Countess of Wessex at an event in the House of Lords last week, the awards are given ‘in recognition of distinguished achievement in the agricultural industry’.

The body which administers the awards, the Council for Awards of Royal Agricultural Societies, has about 1,100 members, both Associates and Fellows, from across the breadth of agriculture.

It aims to be an independent professional voice for the sector.
