A team including two FG journalists will embark on a trek up Snowdon carrying a ‘farm’ to raise money for farmers suffering financial hardship and mental health issues.
The stunt, organised by Cows on Tour, the brainchild of Welsh dairy farmer Abi Reader, will see farmers and representatives from rural organisations carry a menagerie of animals and crops, made of fibreglass, up the Llanberis path to highlight food and farming to the public.
FG’s news and business editor Olivia Midgley and business reporter Alex Black will also take on the challenge on May 4, which will raise money for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and the DPJ Foundation.
Ms Reader said: "CowsOnTour latest publicity stunt is to carry a life size fibreglass cow and her farmyard friends to the top of Snowdon.
"The aim is to create of positive, fun image of British farming by completing this unusual task.
"We invite anyone who wishes to join us for our intrepid expedition.
"At the same time we are raising money for agricultural charities RABI and DPJ Foundation by asking all attendees to donate £25/head. Contact email@example.com or check out our Facebook page."
