Foxhillfarm foundation sale peaks at 19,000gns

THE Foxhillfarm foundation sale of pedigree Limousin females at Carlisle on behalf of Michael, Melanie and Charlotte Alford, Cullompton, Devon, topped at 19,000gns

Sale leader was June 2019-born Foxhillfarm Primadonna, a daughter of Ampertaine Gigolo, Foxhillfarm Mammamia, a daughter of the 125,000gns Glenrock Illusion, which had been inter-breed champion at the Royal Highland Show. The buyers were A. Renton and H.S.B. Redden Partners for the Meadowrig herd, Berwick Upon Tweed.

 

Next and topping trade for unhaltered calves at 14,000gns was January 2020-born Foxhillfarm Rebecca, by Haltcliffe Dancer, out of Foxhillfarm Isla, a Wilodge Vantastic daughter out of the herd’s foundation female, Bankdale Alice. It sold to Gareth Corrie, Newtownards, Northern Ireland.

Selling for 8,500gns was August 2015-born Foxhillfarm Looksthepart by Guards Boomer out of Foxhillfarm Gracie, another daughter of Bankdale Alice.

 

It sold scanned in calf to the 30,000gns Goldies Owain to Chris Johnston, Fivemiletown, Co Tyrone, who also paid 6,800gns for the unhaltered calf, Foxhillfarm Royalty, a full sister to the sale leader.

At 6,500gns was June 2019-born Foxhillfarm Pearl, 35,000gns Foxhillfarm Lordofthering, she’s out of the Haltcliffe Dancer daughter, Corranhill Krystal who was interbreed champion at Devon County Show in 2017. Taking this one home were the Ridley family, Wigton, Cumbria.


Selling for 6,000gns was Foxhillfarm Missworld, a daughter of the 38,000gns Foxhillfarm Irishlad and out of Glenrock Illusion. It sold having run with Goldies Owain to Paul Cairns for his Plumtree herd, Tollerton, Nottinghamshire.

 

Frozen embryos sold alongside a recipient female topped at 3,800gns for a pair of Grade A embryos by Broadmeadows Cannon out Bankdale Alice which went to Tom Bailey, Co Meith, Eire.

 

Averages - 9 cows and heifers served and/or suckling, £5,355; 3 served and maiden heifers, £10,850; 1 young bull, £4,987.50; 9 embryo calves, £4,935; 8 pairs of frozen embryos, £3,132.50
