Freshways announce milk price increase #teamdairy

Freshways has announced a 1.5ppl milk price increase. From October 1, their base price will be 19.37ppl.

Alan Smith, farmer representative for Freshways in the midlands, said Freshways had decided to increase price despite bigger companies holding their price.

"They do offer a basket pricing scheme based on Muller, Arla and Dairy Crest. As [Muller and Arla] have not moved, Freshways has moved off its own back."

Freshways has also written to all its milk purchasers asking for a ’substantial price increase across the board’.

"Once it gets that, it will be passed on to producers too."
