Future online shoppers may be able to choose British-only produce

Farming Minister George Eustice has suggested online shoppers could in future be able to specify they want to buy only British food and drink.

Future online shoppers able to choose British-only produce

Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow made the suggestion, which was picked up by Mr Eustice, during a parliamentary debate on food labelling.

 

She said: “Often when we shop online we do not know whether the food is British. Could consideration be given to a button to press when doing an online shop to enable people to choose from just British produce? Surely that would really help us as we leave the EU.”

 

The Minister responded by saying he was discussing the suggestion with the NFU.
