Graham’s The Family Dairy has signed a new deal with Starbucks to exclusively supply milk to all of its stores across Scotland with immediate effect.

The deal includes all whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed milk, as well as whipping cream.

The Bridge of Allen based company will now supply its dairy products to 68 Starbucks outlets throughout Scotland, as well as continuing to supply a host of independent coffee shops around the country.

Robert Graham, managing director of Graham’s The Family Dairy, said: “We’re thrilled to be adding our delicious milk to Starbucks coffee cups around the country.

"Starbucks share our commitment to quality produce with local provenance and this new partnership is not only positive for our business, it also benefits the Scottish dairy sector generally.

"We value highly the relationships we have with our 98 farmers and this deal is beneficial for all involved.”

"Today’s announcement is just the start of a very exciting and interesting new year for Graham’s in 2016.”

With dairy farmers throughout the UK facing a challenging time, the deal comes as exciting news for Graham’s and the Scottish dairy sector.

Richard Lochhead, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and Environment, added: “I very much welcome this deal between Graham’s and Starbucks, which will see 100 per cent Scottish milk in all 68 Starbucks’ outlets across Scotland.

“Our dairy farmers are facing an extremely challenging time – caused mainly by unfavourable global factors – and we must therefore all get behind the industry and source locally when and where we can.

"Initiatives such as this are to be applauded and I urge businesses to always consider the excellent Scottish offer when making purchasing decisions.

"Our food and drink sector is now worth more than £14 billion and I want more of this success to filter down to primary producers and the rest of the supply chain.”

Ian Cranna, marketing and category for Starbucks EMEA said 'it is important we use the finest local milk available'.

“We’re committed to partnering with the best local suppliers to give our customers the best experiences in store, and so we’re delighted to announce our partnership with Graham’s The Family Dairy for all of our Scottish stores."
