Professor Liam Sinclair has been named the 73rd president of the British Society of Animal Science (BSAS).
He takes on the role of president after several years of working with BSAS’s council.
On his presidential appointment, Professor Sinclair said: "I am delighted that I have been elected as the next president of BSAS.
"I see it as a great reflection of the animal science and research which is undertaken here at Harper Adams and the hard work done by my fellow colleagues.
“The highlight of my presidency will be the BSAS hosting the 67th annual European Association of Animal Production meeting.
“This is the largest animal science conference in Europe, with over 1,200 papers being submitted for presentation.
“It provides a unique opportunity for industry and scientists to meet, exchange experiences and work together to implement new science for maximum impact.
The conference will be held in Belfast between August 29 and September 1.
