High of 3,500gns at York Multi-breed sale

THE multi-breed show and sale of pedigree cattle at York peaked at 3,500gns for the reserve champion, the Limousin bull, October 2014-born Keadyview Joseph.

Consigned by Steven and Katrina O’Kane, Huby, York, by Keadyview Flirty out of Keadyview Eileen, it had been breed champion at Cockermouth and Halifax shows. The buyer was A.S. Dusi, Arksey, Doncaster.


The championship went to July 2014-born Stocksbridge Josh, a Limousin bull by Fieldson Alfy out of Greenwell Darcy from J. Cardwell, Doncaster. It sold for 2,900gns to J. Bowling and Son, Haxby, York.


Selling for 2,400gns was Hollingreave Jjimbo, by Goldies Fandango. This June 2014-born Limousin bull from S. Littlewood, Holmfirth, was knocked down to D. Dodson, Huddersfield.

 

British Blues sold to 2,300gns for the October 2014-born bull, Aprilton Jim Bob by Aprilton Buster from Eileen Wilson, Richmond. The buyer was England Brothers, Malton.

Females

Stocksbridge Josh

Females peaked at 1,950gns for Blakewell Alisha’s Deana, a 2012-born Simmental cow from I. and M. Steele, Hull, which sold with its twin calves, a heifer and a bull, to J. Rigg and Son, Barton on Humber.


Heifers sold to 1,220gns for Elderberry Julyane, an October 2014-born Limousin, by Dix du Der from E. Blenkhorn and Son, Goole which went to G.D. Warters and Son, Scarborough.
