High of £8,000 for online Limousin sale

The Eagleside herd also led the Limousin female trade at £3,000 for Eagleside Lolita, a five-year-old cow by Greensons Hewlett out of Towler Cindy. It sold, with a heifer calf by Mullary Maxime at foot, Messrs Greenlaw, Huntly.

Next £3,200 from the same home was six-year-old Eagleside Juniper, by Goldies Comet and also out of Towley Cindy. It sold with a heifer calf by the same sire to Messrs Lumley, Bedale.

Other breeds

Of the other breeds on offer Charolais sold to £4,000 for Caylers Preston, a January 2019-born bull by Rosanna Jupiter consigned by Caylers Charolais, Nuthampstead. The buyers were Messrs Fairhurst and Son, Lancaster.

The South Devon bull, February 2017-born Kestle Bellerophon 3, a son of Grove Bellerphon from R.K. Rundle, Newquay, sold for £3,000 to Messrs Cummings and Sons, Mortonhampstead.

Hepplewhite Jules 3, an August 2018-born Simmental bull by Kilbride Farm Glenhead from J. and O.J. Trafford, Cockermouth, made £2,800 to Messrs Begg, Stonehaven.

Salers sold to £2,600 for Rigel Della, a three-year-old cow by Lascaux consigned by Rigel Pedigree, Yarm-on-Tees. It sold its second calf, a heifer by Rigel Mycroft Poll, to Messrs Donnan, Stranraer.

Averages - 16 Limousin bulls, £4,184.38; 12 Limousin females, £2,216.66.
