Holsteins peak at 21,500gns at the first Perfection Collection sale

The top price of the much anticipated inaugural Perfection Collection sale at Shrewsbury was 21,500gns for a Mr Rubi-Agronaut daughter, Tynevalley Rubi A Bambi, consigned by Cameron and Rebecca Baty and family, Nantwich.

Holsteins peak at 21,500gns at the first Perfection Collection sale

It was taken home by M. J. and L. J. Robertson, Bristol. The January-born heifer is currently the fifth highest PLI heifer in Europe at £737. Its dam, Tynevalley Supershot Bambi is the former number one RZG heifer and previously sold for €23,000.

 

Next at 18,300gns were six sexed IVF embryos from Rosiers Blexy Goldwyn owned by Blexy Partners, Vermont, USA sold to a syndicate of Tom Lomas, Mike Roberts, Ron Tomkinson, Richard Lloyd and Mark Nutsford. The embryos are sired by Blondin Raptor and Maverick Crush, neither are available in Europe. Rosiers Blexy Goldwyn is classified EX96 with an EX98 mammary system, currently the Supreme and overall champion of World Dairy Expo 2017.

 

The third highest price was 17,000gns for Riverdane Aikman Ghost Red from Riverdane Holsteins, Middlewich, this was the first lot to sell and was knocked down to Nick and Louise Sercombe, Leicestershire. The four year old cow, by Gen-I-Beq Aikman produced over 11,000kg in its second lactation and 12,000kg in its third. It was sold confirmed in-calf to Woodcrest King Doc.

Bel Bag2 Capi Margot, consigned by Allevamento Beltramino and BAG2, Italy sold for 16,000gns to Martin Voight, South Africa. The heifer was by Oh-River-Syc Byway and its dam, Du Bon Vent Inkapi, classified EX90 was the intermediate champion at Swiss Expo 2016.

 

Next, realising 11,000gns was VeTech Atwood Elegance 2, from Ve-Tech Holsteins, Kilmarnock. It sold to Designer Holsteins, Sussex. Its dam, Forte CS Elegance is classified EX95 4E and has six VG and EX daughters.

 

Realising 8,200gns and selling to Lewis Pearson, South Wales, was the choice of four daughters of Peak Goldwyn Rhapsody, by Mr Mogul Denver from Bill Nadin and Yasmin Bradbury, Earl Sterndale. Rhapsody is classified EX97 6E and is the current overall and supreme champion of UK Dairy Expo 2018.

 

Troutbeck Absolute Irene Red 3 realised 8,000gns selling to Glasson Holsteins, Portadown. The yearling heifer from P. and J. Mattinson, Carlisle is by Apples Absolute Red, its dam is Schrago Italia Indiana, classified EX93 with sons in AI. Absolute Irene is a direct descendent of Suard-Red Jordan Irene, the only cow ever to be overall champion at two European Championships.
